10 December 1965

The rich corporate history of De Keizer began on 10 December 1965 when Anton de Keizer, the grandfather of the current Board members, established A. de Keizer Elektrotechniek BV on Sumatrakade in Amsterdam. In the early years the main focus was on repairing commercial vessels in the Amsterdam region. Around 1970 the activities were expanded with building new systems onboard fishing boats, small traditional vessels and yachts. At this time the company had around 25 employees.

Continuing growth

Due to its continuing growth, De Keizer relocated to Zaandam in 1986. Today, the third generation of the De Keizer family is at the helm of a company that employs approximately 300 people in various international locations. Even during the financial crisis, De Keizer has enjoyed plenty of national and international growth opportunities, including new service and refit facilities in Barcelona (2010) and Palma de Mallorca (2011). In 2012 this was followed by the opening of a sales office in the French city of Cannes and an expansion of the head office in Zaandam. Currently, 95 percent of our activities involve work on luxury yachts, supplemented by work on commercial vessels and maintenance.

De Keizer works closely with leading shipyards such as Feadship, Hakvoort, Holland Jachtbouw, Bloemsma Van Breemen, Balk Shipyard, Pendennis, Marina Barcelona 92, Lürssen, Jongert, Vitters, Baltic Yachts and many others.
